Our next Breathwork and Somatic Journey is Friday October 30

THE RETURN

Breathwork Journeys & Somatic Expression

Breathe. Feel. Move. Express. Repeat.

How much of yourself do you actually get to experience in the course of an ordinary day?

Not just what you're thinking, doing, managing or responding to.

But what's happening underneath all of that.

The tension you barely notice anymore. The feelings you keep putting aside. The impulses you interrupt. The parts of yourself that have learnt to stay quiet, stay busy, stay in control or keep going.

And also, the pleasure. The curiosity. The playfulness. The strength. The aliveness.

There's a lot happening inside us that rarely gets our full attention.

THE RETURN is an ongoing series of breathwork journeys and somatic expression practices, creating space to explore more of what it means to be human, in a body.

Through conscious connected breathwork, music, movement, sound, embodied exploration and supported integration, we make room for what is present, rather than deciding in advance what needs to happen.

Sometimes that means meeting something uncomfortable.

Sometimes it means discovering an impulse to move, make sound, cry, laugh, shake, stretch or take up more space.

Sometimes it's quiet. Subtle. Unexpected.

And sometimes, the most significant thing is recognising just how much effort you've been putting into holding yourself together.

We aren’t chasing a catharsis or a breakthrough or forcing a release.

It's about developing the capacity to be with yourself.

To recognise your patterns without automatically repeating them.

To notice what your body is communicating.

To explore expression without needing to justify it.

To discover what becomes possible when you have more choice in how you respond to what you feel.

Why return again?

Because we're not static beings.

What you bring into the room one month may be entirely different the next.

Our bodies, relationships, circumstances, nervous systems and emotional landscapes are continually changing.

And the things we understand intellectually don't necessarily become available to us in our bodies simply because we've experienced them once.

Repetition gives us opportunities to practise.

To become more familiar with our internal world.

To notice what changes, what persists, what surprises us, and what becomes more accessible over time.

Each journey stands on its own.

You can come once, occasionally or make it part of your ongoing practice.

There's no particular place you're meant to reach.

What happens at a Breathwork event?

Together we will explore:

  • Gentle grounding and arrival practices

  • Education around breath, the nervous system, and emotional wellbeing

  • A guided transformational breathwork journey with specially curated music and intention

  • Afterwards, we rest, integrate, and reflect

  • Optional sharing circle and connection

  • Light snacks to support grounding before returning home

Some of What Becomes Possible Through Breathwork

  • Releasing emotions that no longer need to be carried alone

  • Awakening energy, movement, and vitality within

  • Finding clarity beneath the noise of everyday life

  • Deepening connection with yourself and others

  • Cultivating a greater sense of safety, belonging, and support

  • Supporting nervous system regulation

  • Reconnecting with intuition and inner wisdom

  • Remembering the wholeness that already exists within you

Every journey is unique. People often leave feeling lighter, clearer, calmer, more connected, and more deeply resourced.

What does a Breathwork Journey feel like?

Every breathwork journey is unique. Some people have profound emotional experiences, while others simply feel deeply relaxed, grounded, and connected. There is no right or wrong way to experience the practice.

As the breath begins to deepen and the nervous system responds, you may notice:

Physical Sensations

  • Tingling or buzzing in the hands, feet, face, or throughout the body

  • Changes in body temperature, such as feeling warm or cold

  • Muscle tension, cramping, or contractions in the hands, jaw, feet, or arms

  • Trembling, shaking, or spontaneous movement as the body releases stored stress and activation

  • A sense of lightness, expansion, energy, or vitality

  • Deep relaxation and stillness

  • Increased body awareness and connection

Emotional Experiences

  • Waves of sadness, grief, anger, fear, joy, love, relief, or gratitude

  • Memories, insights, or emotions rising into awareness

  • A sense of release from emotions that may have been held beneath the surface

  • Greater self-compassion and understanding

  • Moments of clarity, peace, connection, or profound presence

  •

Why Does This Happen?

Our bodies are designed to move through and process life's experiences.

Yet many of us have learned to suppress, avoid, or push down emotions in order to cope.

Breathwork creates a bridge between the conscious mind and the deeper layers of the nervous system. Through the breath, we can safely access emotions, sensations, and stored stress that may not be reachable through talking alone.

Rather than analysing or fixing, breathwork invites us to feel, allowing the body to complete processes that may have been interrupted by stress, trauma, grief, or overwhelm.

Often people leave feeling lighter, clearer, calmer, more connected to themselves, and more able to meet life from a place of presence rather than survival.

A Gentle Reminder

You are always in control of your experience. You are welcome to slow down, pause, rest, or modify the practice at any time. This is not about pushing through; it is about listening to and working with your body in a way that feels supportive and safe.

Come exactly as you are. Your breath will meet you there. 🌿

About Me

Elyse Hof is the heart behind Soultree Moves Somatic Therapies, bringing together a diverse range of somatic, emotional and holistic practices to support people in developing a deeper relationship with themselves, their bodies and their lived experiences.

Working predominantly with women, while also welcoming men, young people and children, Elyse offers trauma-informed spaces where people can explore the full spectrum of their human experience, including grief, anger, fear, sadness, shame, joy and everything in between.

Her work weaves together breathwork, embodied counselling, somatic movement, emotional integration, therapeutic touch and self-inquiry. Rather than seeking to fix or change people, she supports them to reconnect with their own inner resources, develop greater capacity to meet what arises within them, and discover more choice, expression and authenticity in how they move through life.

Elyse holds a deep reverence for nature, the human experience and the intricate relationship between body, mind, emotions and spirit. A lifelong learner, she remains devoted to her own inner work, continually exploring what it means to live, feel, relate and be fully human.

Her approach is grounded in the understanding that we don't need to transcend or bypass the difficult parts of being human, but can learn to meet them with curiosity, compassion and an increasing capacity to stay present.

Her work includes:

Somatic Therapies | Embodied Counselling | Transformational Breathwork | Emotional Integration | Women's Embodiment Circles | Therapeutic Massage | Grief & Loss Support | Death Walking & End-of-Life Companioning I Reclaim your Anger
